they only caught up near the end of group B tho. not to mention the innovation that quattro was to begin with it was the first of it's kind. it is the reason why rally cars are even 4wd. by the end of group B it was no longer a dominating force but it had such dominance in its prime years and it was so revolutionary that it would be foolish to say it is the most overrated
