@alishaakaurr: Alopecia awareness 🤍 I really wanted to post a more raw video showing the extent of my alopecia right now. I feel like I’ve always been known for my hair and built my social media and career around hair tutorials and tips so this has genuinely been one of the hardest things I’ve dealt with. My hair has always felt like such a big part of my identity, so losing it has been really overwhelming at times. But honestly I’m just soo grateful that there’s growth again, I’m finally starting to feel like myself😭 Hair loss can feel so isolating, especially when you don’t know anyone else going through the same thing or you don’t understand why it’s happening. And the unpredictable nature of alopecia areata can be really scary. I’ve been dealing with this on and off for the past 3 years, I promise you you’re not alone and it doesn’t define you. So many more people are going through this than you realise. If you’re dealing with hair loss right now, please don’t lose hope. Your hair doesn’t define your worth, your beauty or who you are as a person. I know how lonely it can feel and if this helps even one person feel less alone then it’s worth it. I promise it does get better and don’t let anyone tell you there’s no hope or nothing you can do. There are treatments and things you can try to help manage it and so many have never got it again.
