@sacramentourbanmedia916: Relatives of a Memphis father and daughter who were found dead in Mississippi are searching for answers about what led to the deadly incident. Authorities say 39-year-old Victor Gonzalez and his 19-year-old daughter, Serenity Gonzalez, had traveled from their Tennessee home to Mississippi after arranging to buy an item through Facebook Marketplace. Deputies with the Panola County Sheriff’s Office discovered the pair’s vehicle along River Road on March 1, 2026. At first glance, it appeared to be a single-vehicle crash. However, when officers examined the scene more closely, they found both victims inside the vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds. Investigators are now asking for the public’s help in identifying whoever may be responsible for the shooting. Panola County Sheriff Shane Phelps told Fox 13 that authorities were alerted to the scene early Sunday morning after someone reported a crash. “We received a call around 7 a.m. about a one-car accident,” Phelps said. “When our deputies arrived, they found one victim deceased, and shortly afterward determined the second victim was also deceased.” Phelps said investigators are still gathering details and could not share much information at this stage. He added that officials do not currently believe there is an ongoing danger to the public but hope to release more information as the investigation progresses. According to the victims’ family, the trip was meant to be a simple purchase. Victor Gonzalez’s 15-year-old son, Jessie Waterman, told ABC 24 that his father and sister had gone to meet someone selling a PlayStation 5. “They went to buy a PS5 from Facebook Marketplace,” Waterman said, adding that something may have gone wrong during the meetup. He believes the vehicle’s tracks and mud near the van suggest they might have been attempting to leave the scene quickly. Authorities have not confirmed that theory, and the investigation remains ongoing. As detectives continue searching for leads, the teen said he is remembering the lives of his father and sister while hoping for answers about what happened that day.#fyp #viral
