Jr level jobs getting outsourced to India. No enterprise is gonna let their codebases be exposed to LLMs they don’t own and control from bare metal. They’re just claiming the downturn is due to Ai, so they seem “innovative”, and to hide the fact that everything is getting outsourced to India while their sales crumble.

If you would read the article: they found that some jobs such as computer programmers, customer service representatives and financial analysts are more exposed to being replased by LLMs. From their core source of data (survey data from the US) they found no impact on unemployment rates for workers in the most exposed occupations, although there’s tentative evidence that hiring into those professions has slowed slightly for workers aged 22-25.

People replaced by AI are just the one that do copy-paste all day. And even in the last 10-15 years they shouldn’t even exist but they still exists. Finally AI is replacing this “fake human” jobs. Yes copy-paste is not a human job. Understanding, thinking and deciding which tradeoff is the one to take is the human job 😉

When you keep writing code with AI, you loose control over the code. Then when it comes to do the bug fixes you will need even more developers to fix it. Current reality is that AI can write v good initial code. Then developer need to take over can fine tune and polish the code. AI can only do repetitive tasks.

Not to say that these findings are completely wrong, but we also need to remember where they’re coming from. Anthropic benefits greatly from overestimating these studies so I wouldn’t necessarily trust this completely.
