First, the guy making this video doesn’t culminate all of the statistics into one person and there is where Modrić shines. He is really good everywhere. Unlike other players. Who are a bit better than him somewhere but a lot worse somewhere else. Not the best but one of the bests ever is Modrić. He said Toni Kross in WC had some better statistics but forgets that the same Toni Kross went out in the group stage with a stacked Germany team. That’s as far as his influence goes. Ronaldo likewise. Failed in the WC with a stacked team. Modrić made players who are worth as my phone on transfermarkt perform good and made them better with his game and his captaincy. It was because he was top 20 in most of them. He’s world class but was very very consistent. You can argue that he’s 8.5/10 for EVERY SINGLE MATCH. He also ontop of that, won the trophies and of course captained a small country like Croatia to a WC final.
