Highly recommend a reward chart like a candy land board game or something like 5 stickers = ice cream cone with a sticker earned for each time he sits on the toilet. Aim for when he wakes up and after each meal and before bed for a toilet sit of 5 minutes while doing something relaxing. The biggest challenge is usually that kids aren’t sitting long enough to relax and their little bodies are so good at withholding! Curious if he has problems going #2 normally or if potty training makes them withhold going #2, therefore backing him up? I have a 18 month old starting daycare in August and they are going to help potty training! He has a slow moving gut as it is , just seeing if I need to prepare for that!

Dolls :
We did a two week potty chart for my son I made it myself he got to fix stickers for it. If he went pee he got a lollipop or a sticker or tattoo and if he went poop he got a lollipop and a small little toy. We made a treasure chest for whenever he went on the potty and he got to pick out a little toy. (disclaimer majority of the toys were used or toys that he forgot existed)

Rewarding worked with all 6 of my kids. They got a mini Reese’s cup or 5 m&m’s :) You gotta do whatever works and you’re doing a great job and so is your son!

We still did pull ups for pooping. It helped them stay healthy and while my friends struggled with their kids not pooping, mine would ask for a pull up and go squat 😁
