Unfortunately, we are witnessing that among many callers (da‘iyahs), a dangerous ideology of concealed Kharijism is spreading – under the cloak of calls for “justice,” “fighting oppression,” or “purifying the ummah.” They speak with beautiful words, but their methodology is not the methodology of the Salaf (the early generations), rather it is the path of those who historically destroyed the unity of the Muslims. 1. Their main characteristics: They criticize and attack Muslim rulers instead of advising them as the Messenger ﷺ commanded. They belittle the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah, labeling them as “Madkhalis” or “regime scholars.” They praise and glorify extremists and takfiri ideologues such as Sayyid Qutb, Sulayman al-Luwaihan, Turayfi, and others who opened the doors to rebellion and bloodshed. They call the people to “raise their voices” against authority instead of calling themselves and others to self-rectification through knowledge, tawhid, and good character. 2. The teaching of the Salaf regarding this: The scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah have spoken clearly: “Whoever calls to rebellion against the Muslim ruler – even by words – is from the Kharijites, even if he names it ‘reform’ or ‘justice.’” (Shaykh Ibn Baz, Shaykh al-‘Uthaymin, Shaykh Rabi‘, Shaykh al-Fawzan and others) The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever wants to advise a ruler, let him advise him privately and not publicly.” (Ahmad, Ibn Abi ‘Asim – authentic) And he ﷺ said: “Whoever separates from the الجماعة (jama‘ah) by even a handspan will die a death of Jahiliyyah.” (Muslim) 3. Consequences of this path: Weakening the ummah from within. Hatred toward the scholars and loss of trust in true scholars. Preparing the ground for rebellion, chaos, and takfir. Youth, instead of learning the religion, become driven by emotions and false “heroism.” 4. The path of salvation: The path of the Salaf is knowledge, patience, perseverance, and private sincere advice. The path of the Kharijites is shouting, insulting, and spreading corruption. So, O Muslim brother, beware of every da‘wah that attacks the scholars and rulers and calls to “struggle” without knowledge.
