But you can't justify being more expensive than Lacoste. It's more expensive than most Nike, Addidas or Puma sneakers. It's in the same price range as Diesel. It is even more expensive than most Jordans. I think R2000 to R3000 would have been a better price spot. I don't think the brand has enough leverage to do that. Also, they were supposed to be an alternative to the traditional luxury items. Lastly they didn't design anything there. Just copy and paste your logo on a blank shoe you saw on a catalogue at a factory.

Great breakdown. I think it’s just silly of them to take this strategy for their recent products when what made them famous to begin with was being a semi affordable brand which in all honestly is knocking off very high luxury brands. I don’t think this will be sustainable over the long terms and it’s only a matter of time before another brand comes in and gives us the “affordable” version of these Galxboy products just like they once did for the people.

The difference here is that with Brunello Cucinelli or Loro Piana its premium pricing for premium and rare materials like cashmere and ultra fine wools. With Galaxy Boy you are paying premium for the lowest quality in the market of premium sneaker brands. As a matter of fact their same suppliers are literally there selling the same unbranded sneakers on Temu for $15 USD. So paying premium is not putting yourself in a higher economic category, you are just being reaped off

bro i like your thinking, derived value outweighs price far more, also tiers in fashion are important, i remember investing in a veja sneakers because of the sustainability ethos, and people around the hood said why wear an unknown brand, when you can afford nike or stan smith, the conversation is different when you understand silhoutte stitching and fabrics,

GalaxyBoy is selling a lifestyle now, so people who cannot afford it will be left behind, yes they started as a lower affordable brand but like Arnold said, they are trying to reposition themselves with the middle class. Yes the quality might not be the best yet but he will improve with time.
