@bendabirimusic: Isfahan by Duke Ellington / Billy Strayhorn Duke’s band did a Middle East tour in 1963 and played in Tehran and Isfahan. I like to think they probably really enjoyed themselves since they named this piece after the city. The tune was released on the record “far east suite” in 1967 alongside other compositions inspired by that tour. One of my all time favorite albums #iran #isfahan #dukeellington #jazz #piano
