Deeper the submarine goes there will be more water pressure and upward force exerted by water. That will waste lot of energy unnecessarily and wear out parts.

The titanium boats can only go that deep a few times. They only did that with one class. Just no reason. If a US boat needs to go deeper to get away from a torpedo, they will.

there was a theory that if you go deep enough you might protect yourself from nuclear explosions in the water they found out that the deeper you are the stronger the effect is on the sub and that being on the surface is far safer than being deep in the water this and many many other things they found out we're not good about going deep.
