Don’t expect things from people. Not because they don't care. But because they're human. People forget. People get busy. People let you down. Sometimes they'll disappoint you without ever intending to. The problem isn't always what people do. Sometimes it's what we expected them to do. The more you expect from people... The more you'll find reasons to be hurt by them. The more you expect from Allah... The more you'll find reasons to trust Him. Allah says:

Sometimes they'll disappoint you without ever intending to. The problem isn't always what people do. Sometimes it's what we expected them to do. The more you expect from people... The more you'll find reasons to be hurt by them. The more you expect from Allah... The more you'll find reasons to trust Him. Allah says: "...And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He alone is sufficient for them." (Qur'an 65:3) That doesn't mean we stop loving people. Or stop doing good for them. It simply means we stop asking them to fill a space in our hearts that only Allah was meant to fill. Love people. Serve people. Assume the best about people. But place your hope, your reliance and your expectations with Allah. Because people will forget what you've done. People will change. People will leave. But Allah never forgets a single deed, And the moment you truly understand that... You'll stop being disappointed by people. And will find true contentment in your relationship with your lord.
