Back in the 80’s headlights were glass and this BS didn’t happen. And when the bulb burned out, you just replaced the entire unit because it was the glass bulb.

toothpaste and a toothbrush clean them up every time then spray them with a light coat of clear coat to protect the lens

that's a build up of bugs so use bug repellent. it will wipe off.

us bug spray with deet .. spray and wipe and mist people already have it at their home
