literally had the same i tracked it to high cortisol due to stress mine was to do with betrayal trauma exactly the same as your describing at first it was every now and then and then eventually turned to every night and morning if I didn't have it at night I was going through a very stressful time I finally plucked up the courage and went to the doctors she prescribed me propranolol and antidepressants i never actually took them as i was too anxious i moved house and it stopped completely i found what helped is having something to fixate on like a new thing like music I myself fixated on Metallica and finding out the lead singer James went through anxiety and depression really helped to known it wasnt just me sounds crazy but it helped me 🙈 but honestly its terrifying I gave up alcohol sugar vaping and takeaways would literally be a trigger so I stopped all of it thinking it was making it all worse
