@masterj.2001: 🚨Modelling Challenge🚨 How would you approach modelling this twisted door handle? The hexagon makes a 180 degree rotation from its base to the straight at the front of the handle, but how will you achieve that effect? Share your modelling solution below. 👇 #Blender3D #BlenderModeling #HardSurfaceModeling #B3D

I did a Circle, extruded it. Beveled the long edges slightly, then added a bunch of loop cuts. I created a vertex group where I wanted the bend and twist and where the group started, I put the cursor. In object mode I created an Empty at the cursor which is my object reference. Then I add a Simple Deform, set the reference to the Empty, and set the restriction to the vertex group. 180 degree twist on the z axis. Then I add another Simple Deform, set it to Bend, set the object reference and restriction respectively again, and give it a -270 degree bend on the y axis. Then a mirror modifier along the Z. Make sure to delete the bottom face and set clipping to true in the mirror modifier and a nice metal material.

Make a hexagon, stretch it, make two loop cuts, ctrl+left click to the end points, turn the endings and done? Idk I’m a beginner

What if you add a plane you edit the plane into a hexagon and afterthat you add a bezier curve then use the previusly created hexagon as a geometry profile to the curve, after this step you extrude the bezier and use the tilt to get the right result and you check the details and create a backup from that and if you want to add some detail you convert to mesh

I'm a beginner and all I got is to make a mirrored hexagon, screw modifier and curve. Then bridge between the two.

add circle, make it hexagon, extrude, add loop cuts and bevel the vertical edges then twist and bend with simple deform modifier, lastly mirror on z axis bridge them and that's it👌

Use a curve with a low res and add geometry, twist both ends 180° respectively, with end caps. make geometry, and a very small bevel on all edges. maybe even go sub div & add supporting loops at top & bottom caps

Not used blender in a long time and I was never good, but with cad software I'd extrude through layers or create a path for the hexagon to extrude along

Single curve, use tilt on curve to twist the hexagon profile. Then mirror. This allows total freedom of degree of twist, the length (mirrored) the girth of the hexagon along the length
