Hear me out I think there’s another reason why RE9 is one of the most important games in the Resident Evil series. Capcom will eventually return to finish the remakes, and for a long time, Resident Evil Requiem may be the last major piece of lore we get. So here’s my theory What if the Amber from RE4 is actually the source of the golden Elpis serum? Ada never gave the Amber to Wesker, but she had to give such an important sample to someone. I think she gave it to Spencer in 2004, shortly before his death. Spencer then used it to create Elpis as a form of atonement but not really he just wanted to make it to the top one last time. The timeline lines up surprisingly well with Grace.I believe Grace was used as a test subject, which is why she’s immune, but she isn’t a clone the game itself confirms that. Resident Evil rarely uses color symbolism by coincidence, so I don’t think the golden connection is accidental.And Ada Wong was never there to save Leon directly. She trusted her instincts, made her choice regarding the Amber, and ultimately ended up saving Leon’s life once again.
