My daughter is 10 years old and is suffering from migraines just about every day. She was put on a prescription to help with sleep and migraines, but it’s not working. We did a trial run of Claritin antihistamine and for two weeks no headache. how does that work?

heres one for you! I have 5 children from 3 different relationships over 22 years. big age gaps between them. 21 year old daughter, 12 year old boy, 9 year old boy, 3 year old daughter, and 2 year old daughter. Here is were it gets interesting. my 21, 12, and 3 year old have all been diagnosed with Epilepsy. They all have different fathers so the only common denominator here is me. However, after genetic testing I am not a carrier. I do not carry the genetic gene of Epilepsy to have given it to my children. My 9 year old has just completed his sleep deprived EEG so waiting for those results. What are your thoughts on this? What would you suggest I ask my children's doctor's in starting the process on finding out why. Like how does this even happen? This can not just be a fluke.

My son was diagnosed with epilepsy last year and is currently prescribed Lamotrigine 200mg twice daily and his neurologist prescribed Levetiracetam then Brivaracetam but both medications caused increased seizure frequency. He has buccal Midazolam as rescue medication as he has clusters of 3-4 seizures per episode. After taking a video of my son while having a seizure his neurologist determined his seizures were focal tonic clonic and the original Clobazam rescue medication was ineffective because of projectile vomiting post ictal. Epilepsy doesn’t run in either side of the family, MRI and CT normal although EEG results showed a brief burst of bilateral slowing of the brain rhythms. During hyperventilation subtle right hemispheric slowing was observed but this was also observed outwith hyperventilation. My question is if the neurologist has tried to add both Levetiracetam without success then Brivaracetam without success which medication could be the next step in the process of gaining seizure control? My son is 17 and has no quality of life😔.
