This is a good reminder to stop living for validation, stop arguing with everyone, and take ego out of the driver’s seat. That’s real growth.
The harm is when people take it literally, like “if you’re enlightened you won’t feel hurt, triggered, scared, or angry.” That turns normal human signals into shame. It can also make people tolerate disrespect or abuse because they think the problem is their reaction, not the boundary being crossed.
Why it’s misleading is simple: humans still have nervous systems. Emotions don’t disappear with growth. What changes is your relationship to them. You feel the feeling, you recognize the urge, you reality-check, you choose your response, and you protect yourself without spiraling or acting out.
It’s false because it treats enlightenment as emotional immunity. What’s missing is the body: nervous system triggers, grief, pain, moral outrage, and real-world consequences don’t disappear. Growth changes how you relate to emotions and urges, not whether they exist.
