I said this on a different Okapi video: The show creator picked that animal BECAUSE the audience has never seen it either. Mikasa wouldve reacted the same way to other weird animals like a kangaroo or a squid, but it makes us feel like we're scouts seeing new animals for the first time too. Kudos to show creator Hajime Isayama!
