When I took my first formal German class in highschool, of the first things the teacher “clarified”. There was a Der Wienerschnitzel next door to the school. The clarification, it’s DAS Wienerschnitzel and that place doesn’t have it on the menu.

I feel you. it's one thing if you're really trying but not there yet but another to not even TRY TO PRONOUNCE IT CORRECTLY. I've seen some learning German with pingo ai videos on here and I've gotten SSSOOO ANNOYED because it's obvious that they're not even trying with the pronunciation and then fake being upset when pingo yells at them

Similar but different . . . In 60’s and 70’s Taco Bell had a picture of the item, its name and correct pronunciation. I’d like a tack-o and some fri-joles. It appears the correct pronunciation in German is quite a challenge for us
