YES YES YES YES!!!! I lived in Okinawa for 4 years. OMG IM SO EXCITED FOR YOU GUYS WHERE TO EVEN START?! Ok, first off Okinawa. You HAVE to find sea glass beach (you can find the directions on google on the website okinawahai)go to American village to say you did and OMG you HAVE to pick a San A or Aeon. PLEASE VISIT MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT EVER! It’s called Yakiniku King near Kadena. Ok then kind of off the beaten track and it was called 2 jerks chicken but looks like it’s now Mr Jerk. So good!!! The mall in Okinawa was a must, it has a Pokémon store in it and the roof top restaurants were amazing. Ok now, you HAVE to walk down kokusai street in Naha but know that a lot of those restaurants are tourist traps and very meh. BUT there are amazing stores on that street and you HAVE to visit shuri castle. They had to rebuild it because after we left the island it caught on fire. So parts have been rebuilt but it’s amazing and a must! Nago is beautiful and don’t be afraid to go from Naha to nago and the upper part of the island in one day bc the whole island is like 70 miles long. We lived on camp foster and we loved going up to the Aquarium. I used to work at Amicus international school and there used to be this sushi go round right next to family mart but i just found out it’s gone and im literally in tears. BUT family mart and Lawson are a must!!! The egg sandwiches are to die for. Omg this is a book, I’m sorry, but there are so many things! In Tokyo visit the Shinjuku district because it’s ALL shopping!! A huge favor to ask.. please include us on your adventures especially Okinawa! I miss living there so much and we are trying so hard to get back there! Please just see as much as you can! Get off of the beaten trails and go see everything you possibly can. Oh one more thing! The store called Daiso is like a dollar store!!! SO MANY COOL GADGETS!!!

We just got back from Japan. What an amazing country! We did both Disney parks and loved them both. I would do a day in each. As for shopping, Shibuya has so many stores and shopping malls.There are some very unique items. You have to get a pair of Onitsuka runners. You must see Mount Fuji and lake kawaguchi. Have a great time!

Cover tattoos at all times. Belief that you are a criminal cuz you have tattoos! Be careful, some ppl will approach you dangerously...no fun.

1- Avoid summer months at all costs … extreme humidity and hot weather. Our solution was to buy some ventilated jackets over there. Great invention but still, the best is to avoid.

I live in Japan, the “issue” with tattoos isn’t actually an issue. You can’t go to public baths or hot springs, but you can easily rent private rooms. What kind of clothing do you like? And you like anime and pokemon? Because I’d say you’d enjoy Ikebukuro! Ikebukuro has TONS of anime, including the animate, secondhand stores, etc. I’m a shopping proxy for anime goods here in Japan, but if you have any questions just ask!!

I'm sure you'll get many recommendations. I lived on Okinawa for 15 years. Rent a car! And eat taco rice! It's beautiful...I miss it everyday. Enjoy!

In Okinawa American village don’t know if it is still there has been 20 years since we were stationed there. Okma island has the best history for WWII it’s just a ferry ride to the ( I think it is north) to the island. Go to 100 yen store so fun! The aquarium!

Go to American village and go see the running man in Osaka!! There is a Nintendo store in Osaka. Go to Kyoto. You can take the train there easy day trip. So beautiful.

Two things as someone who lived in Tokyo for 5 years 1. if you want to do both Disney parks I HIGHLY recommend staying on property because you’ll get early access to the parks so you can get to the high-traffic rides first. The lines are crazy once it’s fully open! And 2. I always recommend getting a Goshuincho (special book you can buy at temples/shrines), it costs like ¥1500 and each shrine/temple you visit across Japan will stamp it for you for ¥300-ish. It’s an amazing souvenir, and the stamps are SO beautiful! Get two books if you can, it’s better to keep Temple (Buddhist) and Shrine (Shinto) stamps separate out of respect.
