@60minutes: 60 Minutes has learned details of a classified mission that, sources say, obtained a new type of microwave weapon that may explain mysterious brain injuries suffered by perhaps hundreds of U.S. officials. 60 Minutes has been investigating these injuries for nine years. Our sources tell us this microwave weapon, which was obtained overseas, is portable, concealable, and uses relatively little power. For years, the government has doubted the stories of the injured. Now, victims, including former CIA intelligence officer Marc Polymeropoulos, hope that reports of the newly discovered weapon will finally vindicate them. “I worked for 26 years for the CIA. I think I was involved in every covert action program in the Middle East,” says Polymeropoulos, who reports being stricken by Havana Syndrome in 2017 in a hotel room in Moscow. “I just needed to get medical care when I came back, and they wouldn't even do that. So, this moral injury, this sense of betrayal, is so acute with me. That's something that I can never forgive them for.” #havanasyndrome #investigation #cia #nationalsecurity
