@mytherapybinder: If you run substance use or relapse prevention groups, these two videos have been incredibly powerful with my clients. Both of these spark meaningful conversations about addiction, brain chemistry, shame, identity, and the stories we tell ourselves about our behavior. Video 1: Addiction Neuroscience 101 This video helps clients understand what happens in the brain during addiction, including dopamine, cravings, and why relapse can happen even when someone wants to stay sober. Video 2: Rewriting the Story of My Addiction This one opens up discussion about shame, identity, and how the narratives we hold about ourselves can influence behavior and recovery. My clients connected with these so much that they were still referencing the videos weeks later, so I created worksheets to go along with them to help guide reflection and discussion during group. These worksheets work well for: • substance use treatment groups • relapse prevention groups • IOP or outpatient programs • psychoeducation groups • individual counseling sessions If you’re a counselor, therapist, or group facilitator looking for engaging recovery discussions, these can be really helpful tools. Worksheets available in my Payhip shop. #CounselorsofTikTok #GroupTherapy #TherapyActivities #SubstanceUseTreatment #RelapsePrevention

I’ve had clients say the addiction neuroscience video was the most influential thing they learned throughout their treatment stay! It’s one of my favorites! I love to do a little pre video quiz w clients- always gets them engaged!
