@kaylavmezzo: Singers make singing sound easy with the right vowels! If you’ve ever heard a singer sound so open & powerful on a note but then felt like you sounded tight doing it, it could be the vowel. Remember, when you’re singing diphthongs - single syllables with more than one vowel sound - you generally want to hold onto the first, more open vowel shape and delay the glide to the second. This is pretty subtle and kinda sneaky, but now you’ll hear singers doing it all the time - it’s just one secret to getting more freedom and less tightness in your singing. There’s still time to hit your singing goals in 2026 & if you started now imagine how you might sound by June. DM for more info on spring vocal study enrollment & I’d be happy to support 🌸
diction classes have changed my life. it has improved so many things I didn't even realize were issues. .... and has helped so.much with my growth in the last year.

When I was in HS I had to sing God bless the USA at an event and sang “God Bless the US-AEeeeeee..” I elongated the E sounding part instead of the A and I didn’t realize it was a thing and EVERYONE after made fun of me saying I sang God bless the USC.. even a lady came up to me super offended that I didn’t respect the USA lol

i think whoever speaks fluently a language in which spelling poses no challenge (forgot how to call this) already knows this? or the phonetic alphabet. probably true for polish, finnish, and even portuguese. not french or most latin/romantic languages.
