The odometer does stop at 299,999 but the maintenance required light will still activate every 5k miles. My 05 Corolla has an estimated 328k on it.

I have the Matrix M Theory, I always wanted the Vibe though. My odo went to 299,999 and I replaced it and it's almost hit 299,999 on the second odometer

I have seen very many of these with 299,999. My cousin & her husband have these for work. She has an 05 Vibe, he has a 07 Matrix. The matrix we estimate has about 400k, the vibe just hit 299999 in January so only a little over 300k
