dvc is worth it if you like to go to disney at least once annually and if you buy it resale+out right. You can buy a 100 point resale dvc contract at saratoga springs for $12k - 100 points gets you roughly a week and a half to two weeks and the annual due every year is gonna be like $912 bc its $9.12 per point. An average single week long disney vacation at a moderate cost about $6k on the low end so that means for the investment price of just two disney vacation, you can start going to disney and staying at a deluxe level accommodations for one-two weeks a year only $912 a year until 2058

And if you become poor, you can literally sell the points every year and make money from it

DVC was more affordable in the 90s and early 2000s. You also have to realize the points are a locked in rate. The cost of points won’t be the same in 5, 10 or even 20 years from now. So as time progresses the points are the same but the cost versus if you just started 10 years later is different. Let’s say 100 points now is $5000 but in 10 years 100 points is $10000. If you are trekking it to Disney annually it is a savings over time

It’s the ONLY timeshare that IS worth it. One way to know that is how much they sell for resale. Most timeshares are worthless if you don’t buy them directly from the timeshare company.

I bought resell. paid around 37% of the original price. it paid for itself the first year because it came with the prior years points also.

I’ve seen too many vids of people playing the hunger games to use their own points. All that money, and you can barely book when you truly want to be there. 😢

Both my sister in law and in-laws have DVC, they aren’t rich. They bought into it when it was 50% (my sister in law was a cast member). They love it, I benefit from it 😅

My uncle bought in the 90s when it was super cheap and all 9 of us went every-other year, staying at the nicest hotels. Totally worth it for what they paid then. My parents, on the other hand, just bought it hoping to spoil their future grandkids. Do I think it was worth the cost? Probably not, but hey, I won’t argue against a free vacation

You’ve totally misunderstood. Those points are ONLY to be used at the delux Disney hotels if you stay at Disney hotel: not their budget hotels lol. It’s totally worth it if you plan to stay at their delux hotels

My family bought dvc in 1993 when it opened. We got 8 years of free passes and we bought in at $11 a point. I think we have like 1000+ points btw all my family members

If you go every year multiple times and always stay deluxe, it’s definitely worth it. Especially because you can buy a different tier of the annual pass that saves you tons. But you can absolutely do Disney cheaper and you can also buy DVC resale for a lot less and not as long

Eeeerm we have 200 points and last year we stayed 8 nights at Saratoga and 9 nights at Aulani. That’s like $10,000. We bought at the Rivera. I think our contract is 45 years. We pay just under $2,000 in dues.
