@campbelllchaos: God knows I’ve prayed for this. Before I met Matt, I prayed for someone who would love me passionately and wholeheartedly. It’s been 10 years, and he not only loves me just as much as he did in the beginning but even more now. There have been so many sleepless nights while he was in the hospital, not knowing if or when he would come home. Days at work where I had to put on a brave face while checking my phone every chance I got, hoping for updates from the doctors. There have been so many stressful moments that almost broke us. But through it all, I kept praying that somehow we would always find our way back to being best friends and come out even stronger than before. If you’re in a stressful season in life, if you’re in a postpartum stage, a roommate stage, a growing pains stage, a fighting stage, what ever stage you’re in, know that if you give it to God that season will pass & you will come out of it stronger. I prayed for years for God to help Matt & I grow together not apart. Right when I thought we were growing into to totally differently people I asked God daily to take my marriage & have it feel like a safe place again, not a constant struggle of trying to be on the same page. One day Matt said “God hears you, I want you to know you’re always safe with me.” Since then Matt’s lead prayer every single night & our love feels a lot more like 1 Corinthians 13:4–7. We’ve become a team again, something we’ve both wanted for so long but we both had so much inner healing to do to get there & once we put our egos aside we started growing together instead of apart. We’ve faced so much in the 10 years we’ve been together & I truly pray this season never ends & we continue to grow together & only become stronger as the years go by.
