@candifoundit: 25 years old, dating a man who is 50. He works at a plant. Y’all share a car. He just got his own place after living with a roommate. Now I need someone to help me understand the logic. Why are you with a man double your age, who has had double the time to build his life, and the two of you are starting off in the exact same place? At that point what is the advantage of the age gap? I’m not even judging the job or the living situation by itself. Life happens and people build at different speeds. But if you are going to date someone 25 years older than you, shouldn’t there be some level of stability, wisdom, or progress that comes with that extra time? Because if we are the same age in life experience, finances, and starting point… then what exactly am I gaining by dating someone old enough to be my father? Does that honestly sound like someone you’re building with, or does it sound like two people starting from scratch who just happen to be in completely different generations? #agegap
