Shivering is a way to warm the body through an immense amount of tiny movement, and it's something you can train for. When the body feels like it's warm enough, you don't need to shiver. Probably why you associate the lack of shivers with being relaxed? I don't know which one leads to which, but they are most likely linked 😮

This is great in theory, but my body is incapable of relaxing in the cold. I'm basically a head to toe clenched fist from October until May. One of the many reasons I'd rather be in 110 degrees and 1000% humidity than anything under 50. I haaaaaaaaaaate cold weather 😡

I’ve had the same experience with shivering but for some reason my teeth chatter no matter how relaxed I am, especially if I’m swimming in cold water 😭
