@written.by.nora: “Not all that glitters is true gold…” In the kingdom of Apóleya, magic is gold and weapons. A soldier can summon a shield all they want, a magic infused dagger will always win. Riots and uprisings of all sorts plague Apóleya. The people are unsatisfied and angry. Nevany, the general of the Golden Army is assigned to put them down, no matter the cost. But what she cannot and will not accept is that she’ll have to hurt anyone for it. For Nevany, protecting those in need will always be the priority. She will not resort to violence if she can handle a situation without it. But when the heir to the throne is killed, the responsibility of finding the murderer falls onto Nevany and before she knows, she is thrust into the messy world of the royal court. Intrigue, betrayal, and lies are never far and recently a threat has been looming over the city like an ever-present shadow… #fantasy #politics #romantasy #BookTok #writertok
