I was talking to the bank one day. Told them I work in a hotel. They informed me that they have a person that comes in once a week to do all the refunds. Found out the bank does not to the refunds there, but they have somebody, not associated with the bank, that does the refunds.

This is another reason I like using Klarna and Afterpay to book. So far, haven’t had to put down deposits.

I know it’s the owners choice but it looks like it would be cheaper to do a hold vs a sale then a refund credit card processing fees wise.

Had that happen where motel 6 charged a deposit of 100 dollars and when they kept trying to put the money back into my credit union account they kept getting blocked. I had to go back to the motel to get it back as cash because the credit union kept flagging them but they didn't have any problems letting them keep the original charge for 3 days at the motel but the deposit return they kept flagging

Im used to paying deposits, I just accept that it may take 2 weeks to get it back. It's just business. I know if you need the money it can be painful but you'll be ok. we always love sherri's content.

I used a credit card back in December after not having a credit card in years for a deposit at a hotel. I was shocked it reversed same day I was thinking it was gonna be so much longer than that. It was for $50 too

now do holds. no one staying at the wolf lodge ever understands it's a $100/night hold on the card and up to 24 hours after checkout to be released.

As someone who worked in banking I can also say the financial institution takes as long as allowed by law because they earn compound interest for every day they hold your funds.
