I actually realized this almost a year ago when I moved in with my fiancé. I had put up a front of being a strong person that was never bothered and laughed everything off. I realized I would just do what was expected of me. Having strict and controlling parents while growing up fat I was constantly compared to others and expected to act a certain way. Now I get to just my girly little self. I get to cry when I’m in pain and voice my opinions or vent. We’re human and the body we have shouldn’t be a reason for treating someone differently.

Oh definitely. I now live with chronic pain, fully disabled. It's not because I'm fat, but pushing myself for over a decade when I was in a lot of pain, made my condition way worse. Additionally, I'm constantly told by strangers on the internet to lose weight as a way to not be in pain. My doctors, however, doctors don't say this to me, bc they know, even if I lose a lot weight I'll still be in pain.

I love a SMART fat woman. Following. Even just the fear of being perceived as the fat one who can’t keep up would pressure me to keep it moving.

hmm... no I think I do have high pain tolerance, but it might also be me being afraid of even over the counter pain meds. 😅 Though living in fatter body was much more pain and yeah I would still rather be in pain than miss out on things I wanted to do, just because my leg bones were on constant pain from hiking or that the insides of my thighs rarely had enough time to heal.
