As an Irish man let me say Sinead O'Connor's version was beautiful, haunting and timeless. The original was written by Prince/The Family band, then immortalised by Prince & Rosie Gaines, a soulful and subtly scathing rendition. Cynthia Erivo is a powerhouse, who somehow merges both to make something uniquely hers. There's room for all version to be enjoyed 🇮🇪
