Size matters. It just depends how you measure it 📏 The biggest trees in the world, from the tallest tree on earth to the one with the most wood, and where to find three of them. 📍 Cajueiro de Pirangi, Parnamirim, Brazil One cashew tree covering about 8,500 square metres, roughly a whole city block, just south of Natal. It's been in Guinness since 1994 and grows over 60,000 cashew fruits a year. 📍 Árbol del Tule, Santa María del Tule, Mexico A cypress in the churchyard of a small town about 10 km from Oaxaca city. Guinness measured its trunk at 36 metres round, and DNA tests suggest the whole thing is a single tree. 📍 Hyperion, location classified 116 metres tall, somewhere in California, and nobody found it until 2006. Its exact spot is kept secret because so many people went looking that they trampled the plants around it and wore away its base. 📍 General Sherman Tree, Sequoia National Park, California, USA The largest tree on earth by volume. When a wildfire reached its forest in 2021, firefighters wrapped its base in fire-resistant foil. Here are 5 tips: 1. Go to the cashew tree in December or January, when it's in fruit. It's open every day from 8:00 to 17:30 and entry is R$10. 2. The Tule is free to see from the street, with a small fee to go inside the railing. On its fiesta, the second Monday of October, you're allowed to touch and hug the trunk. 3. Don't go looking for Hyperion. If you want to stand under giant redwoods, the park service sends people to Tall Trees Grove or the Grove of Titans boardwalk instead. 4. A paved half-mile trail takes you to the base of General Sherman. In winter the car park off Wolverton Road closes, so park at the Generals Highway lot. 5. Bring 29 friends to the Tule. Send this video to the Mio app and it'll pin all four trees straight onto your travel map. #BiggestTreeInTheWorld #TallestTreeInTheWorld #GeneralShermanTree #ArbolDelTule #californiatravel
