@sacramentourbanmedia916: A Detroit mother is facing multiple charges after authorities say her 6-year-old daughter was fatally shot while left in an unattended vehicle with her siblings. According to the Detroit Police Department, Tonya Charisse-Annice Johnson, 41, has been charged with violating safe firearm storage laws, three counts of second-degree child abuse and four counts of felony firearm. Police shared details of the case in a March 6 update posted on Facebook. Investigators say the incident happened on March 2, when Johnson allegedly left her five children alone in a van while she went inside a restaurant. Around 12:06 p.m., officers were called to a shooting at a restaurant on Harper Avenue. When they arrived, they found a 6-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the head. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but later died from her injuries. Authorities said the children — ranging in age from 2 to 11 — had been left in the vehicle parked outside the Farmer John Food Center at the time of the shooting. According to reports from WXYZ‑TV, Johnson had gone inside the restaurant to get food. Police say the tragedy unfolded when the children’s 11-year-old brother allegedly discovered an unsecured handgun inside the van. Investigators believe the boy discharged the weapon, striking his 6-year-old sister in the head and fatally wounding her. The names of the children involved have not been publicly released.#fyp #viral
