some of yall are delusional. yes chuuya is a loyal person and kind to people hes close to, but that does not make him a good person. almost nobody is a good person in bsd, least of all the literal MAFIA EXECUTIVE who kills people for a living. and yes dazai does seem to lack a moral compass and probably lacks the ability to feel guilt/remorse, but at the very least he is working to better himself and is saving others for a living and not actively going around killing or torturing people anymore. now this isnt to say dazai is a better person, its justthat moral olympics in a show like bsd are pointless

this is why i love BSD. The complex characters are so compelling and so well written. It's a master class on how how create relatable, plot driven characters. After all, it's the reason why I want to be a writer myself

just cz u see one person say that doesnt mean the whole fandom agrees. and just because someone praises chuuya to be “loyal” or “nice” doesnt mean they agree with his actions.. and since we’re on the subject i think dazai glazers r arguably worse. talking so highly of him since he “joined the good side” (he wldnt even hv done so if oda lived) as if that erases his past actions.

I think where people get mixed up with the whole ‘Chuuya is a better person than Dazai’ thing, is because Chuuya can mostly see the difference between right and wrong, he’s just an extremely loyal person so he’s willing to kill people who get in the way of the Port Mafia. Dazai doesn’t necessarily see the difference between right and wrong, but regardless of that, he still turned his whole life around and is doing good, Chuuya is not, weather he’s respectful or loyal or whatever, he’s still killing people

guys the characters in bsd are inherently gray; some are just lighter shades than others, but none of them reach white or black. chuuya is complex. you can’t say he’s simply “a good person” because he’s NOT. even if he’s respectful or kind or whatever. AND, with that, he’s not BAD either. the characters are too complex to apply “good” or “bad” to them

I think there's very few 'good people' in bungou stray dogs tbf. He's definitely not a good person, he's literally a mafioso 🥹 Then again , I can see where people are getting the 'he's a good guy' from since he's not portrayed as this evil ass guy who kills everyone, and some people who don't have it right in front of them don't really look past the surface 🥹 then again it's an anime , and lots of animes have violence , ect. Since its normalized in anime it's kinda just a 'oh he's a mafioso' and not 'oh my goodness he kills people.' kinda way 🥹

He isn’t a good person. Yet he doesn’t have some respect. Like in storm Binger he did say he only joined the mafia so the sheep don’t get hurt. So he does have a good side to him. But he does kill ppl so obviously he isn’t the best person.
