How can you tell if your hair is dry? I know it sounds odd but I feel like my hair is moisturized most of the week, and then I still experience lots of breakage during wash day. I’m very gentle with my hair.

If your hair is drying out 1-2 days after wash day, it’s likely time for a trim. Damaged hair dries out exponentially fast. Minimizing heat will help retain moisture. Using leave ins and sealing with grease when styling; when wearing my hair out I like the mizani moisture milk to spray my hair down if I can’t find time to rewash. Doing this I can actually go about 3 weeks now without washing.

This was my biggest problem. I wash my hair once a week but it would dry out mid week and i’d wait til the next wash day. But I’m learning to remoisturize before wash day. I’m experimenting with adding a botanical gel to see if I can keep my hair moisturized longer between wash days.

my main rule for myself is protective style 2 weeks out of the month and the 2 other weeks can be a wash and go or a braidout. And keeping brushing my hair about 2 times of the wash day.

I wash weekly but I laying my products on wash day so it last a while I would moisturize on day 3..also I don't use hair dryer.
