When these directors go and we’re left with these Netflix directors. We will truly appreciate what film makers like him leave behind.

He’s right. People are distracted by phones, people can sit and watch streaming platforms at home.

Most cinemas switched over to digital projection around 2012, turning cinema screens into glorified smart TVs. Home viewing quality has also dramatically improved with TVs and projectors. It’s surprising movie theaters are still around at all today. He’s right though. Losing that version of cinema is a big loss.

Humanity has ruined the cinema experience. It's over. Movies are a niche now and that's okay with me.

movies have been on decline since netflix came about. There's too much pressure to keep content fresh but the quality has severely declined.

You used to have to wait a year for a movie to be on HBO. Today there is no reason to rush out and see a movie in a theater

Nah fr that’s why I’m just fans of directors at this age. If someone’s made a film that I liked and they’re making a new one I’m excited. But a lot is just not grasping the attention when streaming is gonna have a film I maybe wanna see within a month I don’t care to go to the theater really. Last movie I saw was Crime 101 and I fw it it was a slow burn but it’s been awhile since I saw a sick movie. Reminded me of drive somewhat

As someone that watches movies IN THEATERS religiously (1 or 2x a month) - it’s similar to the mall phenomena. Less and less go BUT on the bright side - it’s going to come back
