My mom and I stopped speaking 6 years ago. She passed last year. I was already mourning her when she stopped talking to me. It’s sad but when family is toxic and mean to you, you have to do what’s best for you and yours

I love her response. I haven't seen or heard from my Dad since my Brother and my new Sister-In-Law's wedding about 5 years ago. I do my sister in law's hair and she wanted me and my husband there. I guess that was too much for him. I do text my Dad for birthdays, holidays, and random days just to let him know I'm thinking of him just to get no response. I'm okay with that because I at least do something on my end. 🤷♂️
