it’s also really important to remember that especially in grad school, the professors WANT you to pass, grad school is truly for students who actually really want it

I had a C and was told if I got another I would be kicked out. I now teach the class I got a C in 😂

Grad school work is harder, but it's easier to get an A. I did more work in grad school, but because every assignment I did had a clear rubric, it was easy to make sure I was hitting all the requirements.

"but if everyone is getting As then grades dont mean anything" exactly. You do not take classes in grad school to get a grade you take classes in grad school to learn something. Its why you only take classes for like half your stint in grad school. The assumption is you are able to and will do the work its basically pass/fail

my grad professors literally told my cohort, “as long as you show, turn in something, and engage in discussion, you’re getting at least a B+” haha

I felt in grad school that things were generally easier. Participation was super impactful, even more than in undergrad

I am not a fan of grad school. its all group projects, not challenging at all and feels like a complete waste of my time and money. im here now, so I might as well finish though. I am honestly ashamed of the group work that gets turned in with my name on it, but it gets As so why bother putting in any effort

You would need to not show up or turn in any assignments to fail a class or get a C…like genuinely you’d need to not do a lot of stuff

Grad school was WAY easier than undergrad for me. But you have to be focused. Instead of having several assignments, most of my classes were one or 2 large assignments.

My advisor in grad school had a rule: if you have a 4.0 GPA in grad school you aren't focusing enough on the research.

I got 3 As and a C my first semester in grad school. I had a 98% in the class before the final which brought my grad down to a C. 2nd semester I got a B. My program is pretty lenient. As long as your semester average is above a 3.0 they let you stay enrolled. If your GPA drops below a 3.0 for more than one semester you’re kicked out though. You only have to repeat Cs if it’s a core course or a 6000 level course. Since the C was in Finance (only 5000 level) and my Master’s degree is for Accounting it ended up being fine. I was devastated and panicked at the time though. I thought I would get kicked out.

I'm totally against that stupid rule because in many universities what they do is forcing professors to give a lot of As and Bs and grades no longer mean anything...

is it hard to fail bc of grade inflation? Why are low grades rare in grad school?

I am 9 credits away from finishing my second graduate program and I would have to agree with you. It’s not something to worry about as long as you follow instructions and meet deadlines you’ll be A-okay

I just grabbed you with my masters in public administration, you could get one C to graduate, I got one C, it was for a marketing class that I had to take and it was all tests and I suck at test if it was an essay or a project or even a writing test, not multiple choice I would have passed with a B or better.
