All engines have to be maintained. Coyote is not nearly as bad as the Gen 2 Ecoboost 3.5 when it comes to cam phasers. Gen 2 3.5’s are pretty much guaranteed to have phaser failure regardless of maintenance routine. I’m not saying it’s a bad motor but coyote is in a different league when it comes to that. Coyote is the most robust mass produced V8. Only platform to make 1000 WHEEL HP Unopened. Just boost and fuel.

My cousins 5.0 in his 2013 f150 runs tops water pump was the only issue with over 125,000. He's a v8 guy but super impressed by the sheer power of the 3.5 eco. Maintenance, maintenance maintenance

the coyote needs good oil and early oil changes and it will survive well it's a well suffisticaked engine so you have to take that in consideration and this is coming from a mechanic who has worked on plenty of them

All newer engines have to be maintained. Especially if you’re turbo charged. Get your oil changes every 3-5k miles and you should be good!

as someone who owns Fords & always had Ford since I was a child, to get the engines to last over 300k miles change the oil every 4k miles with quality synthetic oil, service the transmission every 20k miles, service the coolant system every 40k miles, ptu & axles every 15k miles.
