I literally have been trying to buy a truck and I found one local to me. I told him I had my own financing and I went test drove the truck. This truck comes with factory air suspension. It was already throwing a code, and I could hear a clunk from the left side, indicating a bad swaybar link and the power running boards were having issues. This was all just in a 15 minute test drive. I came back, told them. And he want to check if it was a “ sold as is vehicle”. It came back as a sold as his vehicle. So he had maintenance. Take a look at it and contacted me a couple days later. Basically telling me that they didn’t have the equipment to fix it but a Dodge dealer could. So I told them then have it fixed otherwise I’m not interested in it because I know exactly what’s gonna happen. I’m gonna have a bad compressor to replace the second I drive off a lot. I said if you’re not gonna replace it then I’m not interested. He proceeded never to respond. These dealerships are literally just looking for a bunch of dumb people to just walk in and buy whatever at whatever price they put it at. Also that truck was at least a couple thousand dollars over what it was worth. And in that condition I would’ve asked for another three to $4000 off if they weren’t gonna fix it because that’s exactly how much it would’ve costed me to have the compressor replaced with parts and labor.
