One thing about being a foster parent, you have to always keep in mind if you brought the child in your home knowing that it’s reunification and the parents are working diligently to get them back. The moment you become extremely attached to them it will be an emotional roller coaster when they leave. Your job as a foster parent is care for them temporarily, unless parental rights are terminated, and you are given the right to keep them.

Unfortunately this happens all the time. I worked for CPS for several years, then 20+ with foster children to return them to their families. It’s not an easy process. Keeping children safe is the priority
