As a child of immigrants i know nothing. How do credit cards work? How does life insurance work? Whats a 401k? If i buy a house why do i have to keep paying for the rest of my life if i own it and paid it off? If i donate something how do i add it to my taxes and how much will i get in return?

401 k is untaxed money in put into but will be taxed later based on current tax bracket when withdrawing. ROTH 401 K is taxed money now but untaxed when withdrawing.

If I have kids I’m making sure I start them a Roth IRA account or different account that doubles their money over time so they have college money, car money, house money, and retirement money.

I start reading about stocks and saving accounts in 9th grade and realizing school really a waste of time if it doesn’t teach you about things that can help you once you graduate. I didn’t care about my grades after that.

No need to feel behind, a lot of people who know about them but haven’t started putting money into them. Just do your process and take your time with it, because it’s a system all about time and investing smart and keeping up with it periodically.
