@passtheturkey: Waterboarding is a torture technique in which someone has a cloth cover their head, forced down, and get water poured over their head, simulating drowning. While existing for a long period of time, specifically back during the Spanish Inquisition, the name wasn't coined until the Vietnam War, in which American soldiers were known to do it to North Vietnamese in an attempt to get information from them, in which it was taught to them in military training handbooks. Waterboarding is a famously intense form of torture, being banned by the United Nations for how cruel the technique was. This did not stop the United States from using it however, as for the longest time, as it was believed that Waterboarding was useful for extracting information, with the term "Enhanced Interogation" being used to describe it. However, after mutiple studies and reports, it was discoved that Waterboarding did not benefit in getting information. In the United States, Waterboarding is still used today, mainly in an attempt to extract information from terrorists, with it working about as well as it always has. #peopleplayground #peopleplaygroundgame#fyp #ppg
