One of the things I thought was a neat thing was that the actress that played Sophia and the actors that played both versions of Henry are all three siblings in real life. It's a meta thing that weirdly made Henry's death more impactful for me. Story wise, I agree that Sophia's death had more of an impact on her and who she was.

Carol was still in a state because of Sophia’s death in her and Daryl’s spinoff. Sophia’s death definitely impacted her more.

I love all of TWD characters but Carol in particular is my absolute favorite by far! Her development reminds me of the character Tobias Beecher from OZ. How they both changed so drastically from beginning to end of each series. IYK who he is then I think you’d agree.

the difference between Maggie and Carol is my favorite. they both portray the different ways grief can transform a person. it either ruins you or molds you into someone who will never let your loved ones go through what you did. also carols trauma of being abused adding this extra "blending in" tactic that is scary useful!

she also had time to expect sofias death before confirming it, and had to see henry's head on a spike right when thinking hes ok. sofia was an acident, henry was killed to make a point simply for liking her daughter.

You could also argue that Henry’s death brought up a lot of trauma from Sophia’s death that she was pushing down and so her grief for Henry could have also partially been grief for Sophia coming to the surface again

Honestly wish they kept Ezekiel’s comic pike 💀 because it would have helped created rifts between communities since he was the main factor pushing towards togetherness and it would have made carol an even more tragic character (more explaining her recklessness throughout the season)
