@lmriviere: The Unsolved Mystery of the Khamar-Daban Incident 🥾🏔️🌲💀 In 1993, 7 people went people went for a hike in the Khamar-Daban of Siberia … only 1 would come out. If you want a deeper dive into this story, with all the craziness— lookout for this episode on the Time and Tales Podcast. #darkhistory #unsolvedmystery #historyfacts #learnontiktokcontest #educatoraward
Reminds me of the Dyatlov Pass Incident in 1959 inside Russia — that was a huge mystery where 9 experienced ski hikers went missing and were later found to have cut themselves out of their tents in various states of undress with 3 having physical trauma and the rest from exposure. Think very recently they determined that it was likely a slab avalanche that caused them to leave camp as they did. But for 60 years it was just unknown.

Since it was occurring in one area, I wonder if the ground was venting off H2S or somethi else that causes hemorrhagic bleeding.

Is there such thing as reverse “bends”? Like what happens from coming up from underwater too fast? Like some kind of descent sickness? Worse for a few that might’ve been more dehydrated than the others?

I think that where they were was so high up, but the first guy who started convulsing, was at a higher point than the others, and when the others ran to him, they suffered the same fate from going up to a higher altitude, and when the other girl ran away. She ran lower farther away from the high altitude where it was less deadly

I think it's weird they only got symptoms around the first person and the only persob who didn't go near them was fine. Like it had to be localized to that area if they were all drinking and eating the same stuff, right?
