I strongly advise against buying a Suunto watch. My Suunto 9 Peak stopped working completely after less than two years of normal use. The screen went fully black and the device is unusable. For a product in this price range, that is simply not an acceptable lifespan. What makes this worse is the resolution offered by customer service. Since the watch cannot be repaired, the only option provided was to buy a replacement at a price that is the same as retail. In other words there is no real accountability for a premature product failure. After several weeks of waiting and follow ups, the final answer was that nothing more will be done. There was no flexibility, no goodwill, and no real effort to stand behind the product. With this they basically admit that it’s normal for their watches to die after two years. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend that anyone purchases Suunto products. Better products and customer service are available from other manufacturers.
