I’ve seen that on foreign market cars but the ones I’ve seen come all the way out electrically and then go all the way back under electrically without having to dirty your hands.

Glove compartment in the center of the dash? Late 70s Chrysler New Yorkers and 80s Jeep Grand Wagoneers had them too, but they were bigger and opened up with a knob. That Volvo one is ridiculous and really small too.

Don't like these 🤔 been a thing for long in Europe but to keep it functional you have to clean it and use it. Just a thing that will not work when needed when the car get a bit old.
