The minimum wage doesn’t need to go up, all the other pay does! Minimum wage was made for high school kids, you are not supposed to stay at those minimum wage jobs to live off of. It’s more or less an entry job

I cant tell you about the 70s but I can about the 1990s around 1995 my first part.time jobs I made 6.60 a hour and checks where 250 a week after taxes 230 to 220 depending on hours worked I was 15 going on 16 my mom old house cost 15 k it was not some rich person house just a nor.al old run down houses that needed worked on back the now of days its falling down but back then was not as for a car I had 1989 ish dodge aries and the rocker head was broke and falls I had a tool back to open the cam put it back in close it up and start the car up again I paid 300 for that car back then so yes stuff was cheaper but if you where not rich you still did not have all nice shit back then but the plus side things where easy to fix vs now days the shit thay make is junk and you cant fix it with out replacing half a car now of days
