@harjot.ai: Most degrees take 10–15 years to reach high salaries. But a few careers in South Africa can cross R1M within five years. These industries have something in common: severe skills shortages and highly specialised training, which drives salaries up. Choosing a degree shouldn’t be based only on salary — but understanding career outcomes matters. Salary benchmarks research from PNet, PayScale, Glassdoor and OfferZen Comment “SALARY” and I’ll send the full Top 10 highest-earning degrees list. #careers #careeradvice #university #degrees #jobs

Don’t chase high salaries, improve you self worth and become more valuable than the actual salary through mastering skills valued in the industry you wanna pursue.

Engineers should be at number 1 for that period. after Engineer in Training program, which is about 2 years, engineers earn above R800k pa. At 5 years and registered with ECSA, depending on a company, they go above R1.2 and could go to around R1.6m+.

My view with these reviews is that they are very flawed because you guys probably use the official job titles (CA,Actuary, engineers)The mining sector pays those salaries for employees under 30 however because of the job titles /positions used in mining that skews your reviews, for instance, in mining operations a graduate with a mining engineering degree may never hold a title of a mining engineer but will use operational titles throughout their career until they become a GM(Miner,Shift boss,Mine oversser,Production Manager,HOD,GM).You might find that the engineers used in this analysis are purely based on engineers in the consulting and corporate space and their titles are purely engineers

Pretty accurate. Although you left out tech professionals. Many of them study for like 3 months and make like R60k-R80k per month - which is why most tech professionals need to change jobs every 2 years when their employers go under.
